Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez<\/a> is eyeing a run for president in 2028, according to a report Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The socialist \u201cSquad\u201d member is gearing up to seek higher office as\u00a0she\u2019s\u00a0attempted to grow her presence across the country and\u00a0the Empire\u00a0State, people familiar with her operation told\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2025\/09\/19\/aoc-2028-democrats-president-senate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Axios<\/a>\u00a0in a Friday report.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/04\/us-news\/aoc-takes-dig-at-top-dems-schumer-jeffries-for-not-endorsing-socialist-zohran-mamdani-in-nyc-mayoral-race\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ocasio-Cortez<\/a> and her team are deciding on whether to run for the Senate or the White House, sources told the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The New York lefty has joined <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/06\/us-news\/mamdani-sanders-use-brooklyn-college-event-to-push-pro-palestine-anti-israel-agenda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sen. Bernie Sanders<\/a> \u2014 a former presidential candidate \u2014 on his national \u201cFighting Oligarchy\u201d tour while she\u2019s also held town halls across upstate New York this summer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/02\/us-news\/mamdani-aoc-and-other-dsa-members-should-leave-party-dem-rep-tom-suozzi-insists\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ocasio-Cortez<\/a>, who\u00a0reps\u00a0parts of Queens and the Bronx, has also\u00a0doled out\u00a0millions this year\u00a0on growing\u00a0her social media presence and\u00a0obtaining\u00a0a list of\u00a0possible\u00a0supporters and donors to\u00a0raise\u00a0her grassroots fundraising\u00a0ceiling, Axios reported.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The outlet made clear that the 35-year-old lawmaker has yet to make any decision on the future, but her team wants to give her choices.<\/p>\n<p>Some allies reportedly think that even if she doesn\u2019t believe she could win the nomination for president, she would run for the White House\u00a0so\u00a0the left wing of the Democratic Party has a stake in the\u00a0primary \u2014\u00a0similar to Sanders\u2019 surprising showing against moderate Hilary Clinton in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>If she ran for one of New York\u2019s two US Senate seats, she\u2019d likely challenge Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, though he has yet to confirm whether he is planning to run for re-election.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Getty Images For The Met Museum\/Vogue<\/p>\n<p>The Brooklyn Democrat was elected to a fifth term in the\u00a0Senate\u00a0in 2022\u00a0in\u00a0an easy triumph without any serious challengers from the left.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Post has sought comment from AOC\u2019s congressional office and campaign. The Post also reached out to a spokesperson for Schumer.<\/p>\n<p>A Sanders aide called it the \u201cheight of arrogance to assume she couldn\u2019t win the 2028 nomination.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>AOC is reportedly eyeing a presidential run in 2028. Michael Nigro for NY Post<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe has a supporter base that, in many ways, has a larger potential width than Bernie\u2019s,\u201d Ari Rabin-Havt told Axios.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe has been in the glare of the spotlight from day one and has the national campaigning experience a lot of other potential candidates are now trying to get.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ocasio-Cortez, who burst onto the political scene when she\u00a0beat\u00a0entrenched\u00a0Congressman\u00a0Joe Crowley in a 2018 Democratic primary,\u00a0has\u00a0a myriad of progressive positions, including advocating for universal health care and the\u00a0pricey\u00a0Green New Deal.<\/p>\n<p>Rep.
