Part-time NASCAR<\/a> Craftsman Truck Series driver Cody Dennison announced that he’s been let go by Reaume Brothers Racing for “being a conservative.”<\/p>\n

Dennison first started off as a YouTuber, having created the CAMELOT331 channel back in 2013 before starting to race professionally nine years later. The 35-year-old currently drives the Nos. 2\/22 Ford in the Craftsman Truck Series while also racing part-time in the ARCA Menards Series.<\/p>\n

In recent days, Dennison has publicly commented on a myriad of hot topics, including Charlie Kirk’s assasination<\/a> and the cancellation of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’<\/a> Taking to X on Thursday, he claimed that his opinions caused Reaume Brothers Racing to fire him.<\/p>\n

“Got a video coming soon about being canceled behind the scenes from a race team for being a conservative,” Dennison wrote. “Recorded calls and messages. Going to be a wild ride. Keep your ears peeled.”<\/p>\n

While addressing the axing of the show – which came after Jimmy Kimmel made several comments about the public reaction to Kirk’s killing<\/a> – Dennison said during a YouTube livestream on Wednesday: “Jimmy Kimmel was pulled off the air, which I’m pretty happy about. One, because Jimmy Kimmel sucks and he’s always sucked and tired of it. When [Donald] Trump was elected … dude went on air and was sobbing in his open monologue. Dude, they should have been fired that day for being a b—-. But it’s fine. Times have changed.”<\/p>\n

In Dennison’s eyes, Kimmel’s punishment stemmed from an “overcorrection” in cancel culture. “Times are way different now, okay? Just the fact that you were perceived as a conservative could lead you to losing everything in the last couple years,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Well, guess what? It flipped, and your boy’s kind of happy about it, I’m gonna be honest. It kind of feels good not to worry about getting fired every two damn seconds or canceled.<\/p>\n

“My sponsors call me all the time. They’re like, ‘Bro, what’s up? Hey, dude, we love you.’ It’s a great time to be alive, okay? Because they’re also based. Because we’ve all survived in this world together and been struggling. And now that shoe was on the other foot.<\/p>\n

“And you know what? I turned the cheek, I turned the other cheek for years. For 10, 15 years, I’ve been turning the other cheek. And I’m gonna be honest. I’m fresh out of cheeks.<\/p>\n

“What you’re seeing right now – even if you may not agree with it – is an overcorrection,” Dennison continued. “If I was racing five years ago in NASCAR – and an interviewer knew I had a podcast, and they knew I had certain views – and they’re like, ‘Well, how many genders are there?’ And I was like, ‘Oh, there’s two.’ I would likely get banned from NASCAR five years ago.<\/p>\n

“Now, is it because NASCAR feels that way, or is it because the people working there feel that way? No, none of that. They’re terrified of losing sponsors. That’s all it is. They’re f—— terrified of getting crushed under the heel of … the media being completely liberal. So you kind of have to adhere to it, especially as a giant company like that.
