NATO responded immediately and intercepted the Russian aircraft,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/natopress\/status\/1969056983413080540?s=46\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">said<\/a>\u00a0NATO spokesperson Allison Hart. \u201cThis is yet another example of reckless Russian behaviour and NATO\u2019s ability to respond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Today&#8217;s violation of Estonia&#8217;s airspace by Russian military aircraft is an extremely dangerous provocation,&#8221;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/politicoeu.slack.com\/archives\/C0WR5GFDE\/p1758296750106039?thread_ts=1758296666.403839&amp;cid=C0WR5GFDE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">said<\/a>\u00a0EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas. &#8220;We will continue to support our member states in strengthening their defences with European resources.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Estonia said it had summoned Russia\u2019s charg\u00e9 d\u2019affaires in Tallinn. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cRussia has violated Estonian airspace four times already this year, which is unacceptable in itself, but today\u2019s violation, during which three fighter jets entered our airspace, is unprecedentedly brutal,\u201d Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said. \u201cRussia\u2019s ever-increasing testing of borders and aggression must be responded to by rapidly strengthening political and economic pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Poland reported more than a dozen drones crossed its border overnight, with some heading toward the strategic hub of Rzesz\u00f3w. Polish forces, backed by NATO allies, shot down several drones and later invoked NATO&#8217;s Article 4, which calls for the alliance to hold consultations. Warsaw called the incident a deliberate Russian provocation.<\/p>\n<p>Romania has also faced repeated violations, including a drone tracked for nearly 50 minutes in its airspace in mid-September.
