\n\tPREVIOUS EXCLUSIVE: <\/strong>Sources are buzzing and awaiting calls with AMC today about the No. 1 circuit\u2019s last-minute booking of a Taylor Swift secret movie connected to the release of her new album, The Life of a Showgirl. The movie, which is under wraps in regards to its concept and direction, is timed to open on October 3, the same day as Swift\u2019s album.<\/p>\n

\n\tTHR first had the news about Swift\u2019s new big-screen experience Thursday night, but Deadline hears this morning that AMC is reteaming with the mega pop star for theatrical release on Oct. 3. Variety, after Deadline\u2019s post this AM, identified Swift\u2019s new movie as an 89-minute movie, Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl which will include the debut of the album\u2019s music video \u201cThe Fate of Ophelia\u201d along with behind-the-scenes footages, and Swift\u2019s reflections on her latest tunes. <\/p>\n

\n\tDeadline learned that Variance, who handled booking for AMC on Swift\u2019s 2023 concert movie, Taylor Swift: Eras Tour, is involved again. Last time, AMC made most of the money from Eras Tour, many moviegoers and Swifties believing that the movie was playing solely at the No. 1 circuit, despite it being booked everywhere. Showgirl will be booked at rival non-AMC circuits. Tickets are $12, a nod to Swift\u2019s 12th album and they go on sale today at 12:12PM ET. \n\tTerms out there is that Swift wants PLFs (premium large format screens), and the movie will only play Oct. 3, 4 and 5 at a minimum of four showtimes a day. Already, that weekend, Imax and PLFs are spoken for with wide releases Avatar: The Way of Water from Disney getting a re-release, A24\u2019s Dwayne Johnson movie The Smashing Machine (which is expected to bow to $20M), and Warner Bros.\u2019 second weekend of Paul Thomas Anderson\u2019s VistaVision Leonardo DiCaprio movie, One Battle After Another. <\/p>\n

\n\tAMC and Swift made great music together with the release of Eras Tour which posted the second best debut at the October box office with $93.2M after Warner Bros\/DC\u2019s 2019 Joker ($96.2M). Eras Tour went on to make $180.7M domestic, $261.6M worldwide, a saving grace for the box office when it was rattled by the strikes. Eras Tour concert movie from filmmaker Sam Wrench made a profit of $172M net,<\/a> and that was with a $75M streaming deal on Disney+. <\/p>\n
