\n\tOctavia Spencer<\/a> and Jessica Chastain<\/a> will reunite on screen for the first time since \u201cThe Help<\/a>\u201d in \u201cDeck the Y\u2019alls,\u201d a holiday comedy from the writer of \u201cGirls Trip.\u201d They join a cast that includes Wanda Sykes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cDeck the Y\u2019alls\u201d follows a New York baker named Rachel Stein (Jessica Chastain), who falls for Beau, a younger Southern gentleman, and heads to Charleston, South Carolina to spend Christmas with his family. But over-protective matriarch Gladys Gibbes (Octavia Spencer) is a celebrity chef who clashes with Rachel. The film will shoot next year. Tracy Oliver (\u201cGirls Trip\u201d) wrote the script with Stefanie Williams.<\/p>\n

\n\tBoth actresses were nominated for Oscars in the best supporting actress category for \u201cThe Help,\u201d with Spencer winning the award. Chastain would go on to win an Oscar for \u201cThe Eyes of Tammy Faye\u201d and scored another nomination for \u201cZero Dark Thirty.\u201d Her credits include \u201cMolly\u2019s Game,\u201d \u201cInterstellar\u201d and the Showtime series \u201cGeorge and Tammy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSpencer was nominated for Oscars for her work in \u201cHidden Figures\u201d and \u201cThe Shape of Water.\u201d She also appeared in \u201cFruitvale Station\u201d and \u201cMa,\u201d and executive produced and starred in the Netflix biographical limited series \u201cSelf Made,\u201d for which she was nominated for an Emmy.<\/p>\n

\n\tSykes is a comedian and Emmy-winning actress with credits including \u201cThe Chris Rock Show,\u201d \u201cCurb Your Enthusiasm\u201d and \u201cThe New Adventures of Old Christine.\u201d Sykes\u2019 stand up specials include \u201cTongue Untied,\u201d \u201cSick & Tired\u201d and \u201cNot Normal.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOliver is a screenwriter and producer best known for writing the hit 2017 film \u201cGirls Trip,\u201d which made her the first Black woman to pen a movie that grossed over $100 million at the box office. She then went on to write the comedy series \u201cHarlem,\u201d \u201cThe First Wives Club\u201d and is currently working on \u201cGirls Trip 2.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cDeck the Y\u2019alls\u201d will be produced by Sandbox Studios, as well as Octavia Spencer\u2019s ORIT Entertainment, Jessica Chastain\u2019s Freckle Films and Sony Music Vision. The producers are in active discussions with distribution partners.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tSandbox Studios and Jessica Chastain are currently working together on the Netflix mystery thriller \u201cHeartland\u201d starring Chastain, country singer Carter Faith and John Hawkes, which was announced last week.<\/p>\n
