{"id":240231,"date":"2025-09-20T00:59:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-20T00:59:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/240231\/"},"modified":"2025-09-20T00:59:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-20T00:59:08","slug":"man-killed-by-falling-heavy-equipment-at-port-san-antonio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/240231\/","title":{"rendered":"Man killed by falling heavy equipment at Port San Antonio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An elderly man has died at the Boeing Center at Tech Port in what <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ksat.com\/news\/local\/2025\/09\/19\/person-dead-after-large-piece-of-equipment-fell-at-port-sa-safd-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">police are describing as a \u201cworkplace accident.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Police, firefighters and emergency services responded to an extrication call on the 3300 block of General Hudnell Drive at 4:34 p.m. Friday. <\/p>\n<p>They were responding to a report of a large piece of equipment, identified as possibly a jet engine, falling on an elderly man, according to the San Antonio Fire Department\u2019s public information officer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters declared the victim dead when they arrived at the scene, which was near a loading dock behind the event venue.<\/p>\n<p>As of 6:50 p.m. SAFD resources remained on scene to assist with the removal of the body from underneath the heavy object.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Port San Antonio referred media questions to fire and police.
