{"id":240486,"date":"2025-09-20T03:24:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-20T03:24:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/240486\/"},"modified":"2025-09-20T03:24:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-20T03:24:09","slug":"man-found-guilty-of-murdering-his-wife-with-pipe-claimed-she-performed-voodoo-on-him-action-news-jax","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/240486\/","title":{"rendered":"Man found guilty of murdering his wife with pipe, claimed she performed \u2018voodoo\u2019 on him \u2013 Action News Jax"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 A Jacksonville man is now awaiting sentencing after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/news\/local\/duval-county\/jso-woman-found-dead-inside-apartment-san-jose\/SZCUMDXARVEUFLTTZJCOI5P4I4\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/news\/local\/duval-county\/jso-woman-found-dead-inside-apartment-san-jose\/SZCUMDXARVEUFLTTZJCOI5P4I4\/\">murdering his wife<\/a> with a metal pipe in May of 2021.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">33-year-old Samijo Hemans was found guilty on September 16, 2025, of second-degree murder for the incident that unfolded at the Kings Crossing Apartments on Old Kings Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\"><b>[DOWNLOAD: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.actionnewsjax.com\/mobile-apps\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Free Action News Jax app for alerts as news breaks<\/b><\/a><b>]<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">According to a police report, Hemans admitted to officers that he had hit Catherine, 33, in the head from behind around 45 minutes after she and their baby arrived at the apartment. Officials said they fought over the weapon after the initial hit, but she ultimately died after several more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">Hemans told investigators that they had not been in any sort of argument to provoke the attack, but that she had been performing \u201cvoodoo\u201d on him for years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 jsuuLb body-paragraph\">The guilty verdict was ultimately made by the judge in the bench trial.
