\n\tAs the search for the next James Bond<\/a> reaches the final stretch, Henry Golding<\/a> shared his thoughts on the seemingly coveted role.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe British actor recently explained why the 007<\/a> lead character is \u201cevery actor\u2019s kind of nightmare\u201d following news that Denis Villeneuve<\/a> will helm the next installment<\/a> in the 50-year franchise.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBut at the same time, [you\u2019re] also wanting to kind of add something new to a franchise,\u201d he told People<\/a>. \u201cWhy can\u2019t they bring out more agents or more 00\u2019s? I think that would be so much more fun, because there just isn\u2019t the restraints and the expectation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGolding added, \u201cMaybe I\u2019m just a p***y. I don\u2019t know. But I think I would love it so much more if there wasn\u2019t that overhanging cultural pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDaniel Craig<\/a> played the iconic role in Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015) and No Time to Die (2021). Following previous Bond stars Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan, Craig\u2019s successor has not yet been chosen.<\/p>\n

\n\tThis week, Amazon MGM Studios<\/a> officially tapped Villeneuve to direct the next installment<\/a> amid the studio\u2019s new 007 partnership with returning producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. Tanya Lapointe will executive produce.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter announcing that Amy Pascal and David Heyman will produce the next film<\/a> in the franchise, Amazon MGM\u2019s Courtenay Valenti and Sue Kroll said at CinemaCon in April that the pair of \u201cfilmmaking legends\u201d is currently in London working on the film<\/a>.<\/p>\n
