About 160 flights were delayed in and out of Love Field while one flight was canceled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">A spokesperson for Love Field said they were in \u201cconstant communication\u201d with partners including the FAA as they \u201cwork to manage the situation and minimize disruptions.\u201d DFW Airport said on the social platform X that the FAA was managing the air traffic delays in the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">As of late Friday afternoon, departures from Love Field were delayed by an average of about 30 minutes, according to the FAA website. At DFW Airport, a ground stop was in place for American Airlines and flights on other airlines were being delayed by over an hour.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">All flights were stopped at both airports for more than an hour.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">American Airlines said on X that the FAA had reported \u201can issue involving the telecommunications provider for the air traffic control facility that oversees the airspace in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">The FAA said the problems in Dallas weren\u2019t linked to the aging equipment that air traffic controllers rely on or the nationwide shortage of controllers that both combined to <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/newark-airport-flight-delays-cancellations-united-4d3a3e226608583df5c292389f3c3b37\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">disrupt flights<\/a> at Newark Liberty International Airport earlier this year.
