\n\tUPDATED with arrest:<\/strong> A suspect has been arrested for allegedly shooting into the lobby of Sacramento ABC<\/a> affiliate KXTV (ABC10<\/a>), police said Saturday. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe shooting Friday, occurred one day after a protest was held outside the station over the network\u2019s suspension of Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> Live!<\/p>\n

\n\tAnibal Hernandezsantana, 64, of Sacramento, was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied building, and negligent discharge of a firearm, police said. The motive of the shooting remains under investigation. <\/p>\n

\n\tOfficers responded to reports of shots fired at the TV station shortly after 1:30 pm Friday. Sacramento Police Officer Anthony Gamble said at least three gunshots were fired at the building from a passing vehicle. <\/p>\n

\n\tPolice later was able to identify the vehicle, leading officers to a Sacramento residence and Hernandezsantana\u2019s subsequent arrest.<\/p>\n

\n\tABC News photos showed three bullet holes in the window of the building\u2019s lobby. The station said a person was in the lobby at the time of the shooting, but was not injured. <\/p>\n

\n\tHernandezsantana was being booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. <\/p>\n

\n\tIn a statement to ABC News, ABC10 station owner Tegna, said it \u201cis fully cooperating with law enforcement and have taken additional measures to ensure the continued safety of our employees.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe demonstration outside the building Thursday was part of widespread protests over ABC\u2019s suspension of Kimmel<\/a> following his comments about Charlie Kirk<\/a>, including one held outside Disney studios in Burbank<\/a> and another in Hollywood<\/a> where Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/a>! is taped. Attendees at the Sacramento protest held signs reading \u201cFirst Amendment,\u201d \u201cResist\u201d and \u201cYou\u2019re Next\u201d among others.<\/p>\n
