Credit: Diego Medel \/ San Antonio Report<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe begin planning as soon as the previous Fright Fest is over so it\u2019s truly a year in the making,\u201d said Jeffery Siebert, regional general manager for all the Six Flags parks in Texas. \u201cWe always take our guest feedback and research and want to make the next year the biggest and best that we\u2019ve ever done. \u2026 [This year is] the biggest, largest Fright Fest that we\u2019ve ever done in our parks history.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fright Fest has several Halloween-themed performances, six scare zones and six haunted mazes, four of which are new. Credit: Diego Medel \/ San Antonio Report<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re a fan of horror movies, truly Fright Fest is becoming one stop shopping for all the love and passion that we have for scaring people and Halloween specifically,\u201d Siebert said.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>The park\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sixflags.com\/fiestatexas\/events\/fright-fest-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fright Fest<\/a> activities, including the performances, haunted mazes and scare zones are recommended for parkgoers 13 and up.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>During the daytime, \u201cit\u2019s all fun, no fear\u201d at Six Flags, with its family-friendly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sixflags.com\/fiestatexas\/events\/tricks-treats-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tricks and Treats <\/a>event. Children can get their fill of candy from the park\u2019s Trick-or-Treat Trail and participate in a kid-friendly celebration before the sunsets.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Parkgoers can also enjoy pretzels, bratwursts and other German cuisines at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sixflags.com\/fiestatexas\/events\/oktoberfest-food-festival\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Six Flags Fiesta Texas\u2019 Oktoberfest<\/a>, running through Oct. 26.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Be sure to check the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sixflags.com\/fiestatexas\/plan-your-visit\/park-hours\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">park\u2019s calendar for operating hours<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><strong>Six Flags Fiesta Texas\u00a0<br \/>When: <\/strong>Weekends from Sept. 6 \u2013 Nov. 2<br \/><strong>Where: <\/strong>17000 IH-10 West, San Antonio, TX 78257<br \/><strong>Price: <\/strong>Admission to the park and haunted attractions can be purchased together for $69 or haunted attractions can be added to park admission for $30.<\/p>\n<p>But Fright Fest isn\u2019t the only place to get the heebie-jeebies in San Antonio. The Pretzel Kitchen will be serving up Creepy Mummy Dogs and Shadow Twist Pretzels.<\/p>\n<p>SeaWorld\u2019s Howl-O-Scream is intended for mature audiences. Parents can drop their children off at SeaWorld\u2019s Spook-Camp-ular for educational activities, games and snacks for $49. <\/p>\n<p>Check the <a href=\"https:\/\/seaworld.com\/san-antonio\/park-info\/theme-park-hours\/?_gl=1*n8z35i*_up*MQ..*_gs*MQ..&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQjw_rPGBhCbARIsABjq9cfqKzvB9AZaAV_8YpgaklCIBeI0K5OulC0viMbnPw8elckzxBnozkYaAqtXEALw_wcB&amp;gclsrc=aw.ds&amp;gbraid=0AAAAAD5e25TG4LHwec_Oxvjis7dfzlNeZ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">park\u2019s calendar for operating hours<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><strong>SeaWorld San Antonio<br \/>When: <\/strong>Thursdays through Sundays, Sept. 12 \u2013 Nov. 1<br \/><strong>Where:<\/strong> 10500 SeaWorld Dr., San Antonio, TX 78251<br \/><strong>Price:<\/strong> Included with park admission with upgrades available for purchase<\/p>\n<p>13th Floor Haunted House<\/p>\n<p>San Antonio\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/13thfloorsanantonio.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">13th Floor Haunted House<\/a> touts itself as the \u201cultimate Halloween event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This year it will feature two haunted house attractions \u2014 The Legend of the Donkey Lady and The Bloodshed.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees can also put their aim to the test at The Last Spinehelm: Zombie Shooting Range attraction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA simple town with markets and a grand hotel that has been infested with the zombie virus infecting all the townsfolk,\u201d the 13th Floor website says. \u201cFrom the chefs of the cafe to the hotel\u2019s bellhops\u2019 it is your mission to stop the infected townsfolk from escaping to the rest of San Antonio, be wary though, some targets in the room are not the most friendly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>13th Floor Haunted House also has two secret bars within the haunted house hallways: Copper Tavern and UV Obscura. <\/p>\n<p class=\"has-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><strong>13th Floor Haunted House<br \/>When:<\/strong> Select nights Sept. 13 \u2013 Nov. 9<br \/><strong>Where: <\/strong>1203 E Commerce St., San Antonio, TX 78205<br \/><strong>Price: <\/strong>$19.99-$34.99<\/p>\n<p>San Antonio Zoo<\/p>\n<p>The San Antonio Zoo will put up family-friendly Halloween d\u00e9cor for its <a href=\"https:\/\/sazoo.org\/sitewrench-calendar\/san-antonio-zoo\/?swwpc_calendar_id=839&amp;swwpc_event_id=4689447&amp;swwpc_event_date=2025-09-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zoo Boo<\/a> event.<\/p>\n<p>During the event\u2019s duration, Saturdays at the zoo \u201cwill be filled with entertainment\u201d from a DJ and other activities on its Great Lawn.<\/p>\n<p>Free Trick-or-Treating will be held daily from Sept. 20 through Oct. 30 from 4-5 p.m. Extended hours and special Halloween activities will take place Oct. 31. <\/p>\n<p>New attractions to this year\u2019s event include the Booterfly Tree, where attendees can visit a \u201cmagical tree filled with giant sparkling butterflies\u201d and the D\u00eda de los Muertos Plaza to see \u201clarger-than-life sugar skull themed zoo animals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re into creepy crawly things, you can \u201ccome face-to-face with an assortment of real-life spiders and gothic butterflies\u201d at the John &amp; Greli Less Spider Rainforest, another new attraction at this year\u2019s Zoo Boo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><strong>San Antonio Zoo<br \/>When:<\/strong> Select days Sept. 20 \u2013 Oct. 31<br \/><strong>Where:<\/strong> 3903 N. St. Mary\u2019s St. San Antonio, TX 78212<br \/><strong>Price:<\/strong> Adult admission starts at $29.99; children at $23.79<\/p>\n<p>San Pedro Playhouse <\/p>\n<p>The San Pedro Playhouse is celebrating the 50th anniversary of \u201cThe Rocky Horror Picture Show\u201d with <a href=\"https:\/\/ci.ovationtix.com\/35749\/production\/1250549?performanceId=11689126\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">two screenings on Halloween night<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The screening will include a costume contest, themed lobby decorations, a full bar and food trucks \u201cto keep the energy high all night long,\u201d the event website promises.<\/p>\n<p>The first screening is at 7 p.m. and the second is at 10 p.m. Attendees can upgrade their experience with VIP tickets that come with perks: priority entry, a better view of the show, one drink ticket, a prop bag and a cast meet-and-greet experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-light-gray-background-color has-background\"><strong>San Pedro Playhouse<br \/>When: <\/strong>Oct. 31<br \/><strong>Where:<\/strong> 800 W.
