Dawn Lockhart, CEO of the Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida, explained the financial struggles these organizations are experiencing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cWe have about 7,000 nonprofit organizations, of which 1,500 actually file 990s so those are the ones we have data on. All of those organizations, 35% of them are in the red and only a third of them have reserves and that is data we were able to glean from 2023 when their tax forms were filed.
