There’s a 12-foot golden statue of President Donald Trump that was temporarily put up in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 17 to honor his support of cryptocurrency.

The gold statue of Trump holding a giant bitcoin in his hand apparently lived on 3rd street, in the National Mall just outside the Capitol, as a demonstration for several hours, according to a National Park Service permit obtained by USA Today.

The NPS permit apparently reads, “Recognizing the president’s support for cryptocurrency and its role in pushing Bitcoin’s value beyond $100,000, this artistic installation aims to ignite discussion in this iconic location.”

Yes, the “Bitcoin President” himself had an entire golden statue chilling in the capital — just like a supervillain in an Austin Powers movie.

ABC 7News reported that Hichem Zaghdoudi, a representative of the collective of crypto investors who funded the artistic installation, said, “The installation is designed to ignite conversation about the future of government-issued currency and is a symbol of the intersection between modern politics and financial innovation.”

Well, if the goal of the guady statue was to just to “ignite discussion,” then it’s fair to say they succeeded tenfold because it’s going viral and people have thoughts.

People are saying the “ugly-ass golden statue” is “weird as hell.”

Another person thought the bitcoin statue was a joke.

One person said it looks like Ronald McDonald.

Another person said it looks basically like a giant M&M.

This person “didn’t expect fascism to be this embarassing.”

Someone said everyone who lost their “absolute FUCKING MIND” over Barack Obama’s tan suit will

A lot people couldn’t help but compare it to the golden idol King Nebuchadnezzar built on the pain of Dura in the province of Babylon.

And although the statue was apparently commissioned by a private group, this person brings up a very point that our priorities are out of whack.

What do you think about the golden Trump statue? Be honest.

Trump’s Golden Statue In Washington D.C. Is Going Viral It’s not a hoax.
