PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 A man is dead after being hit by a train in Phoenix on Saturday. <\/p>\n

Around 2 a.m., officers responded to Grant Street and 7th Avenue <\/a>for reports of a person who might be dead. When they arrived, they found 33-year-old Dominique Mayes suffering from serious injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. <\/p>\n

Police say that a BNSF train moved a short distance, which is when his body was found. Detectives believe that Mayes was likely near the train as it began to move and was run over. <\/p>\n
