{"id":243246,"date":"2025-09-21T06:13:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-21T06:13:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/243246\/"},"modified":"2025-09-21T06:13:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-21T06:13:09","slug":"christopher-nolan-elected-dga-president","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/243246\/","title":{"rendered":"Christopher Nolan Elected DGA President"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/dga\/\">Director\u2019s Guild of America<\/a> (DGA) has announced <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/christopher-nolan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Christopher Nolan<\/a> as its new president during Saturday\u2019s Biennial National Convention.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe 2x Oscar-winning Oppenheimer director was appointed to succeed Lesli Linka Glatter, among a new slate of officers and new members of the DGA\u2019s National Board of Directors, chosen by 167 delegates, who represent the 19,500-strong union of directors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAlso elected on Saturday were Laura Belsey as National Vice President, Paris Barclay re-elected as Secretary-Treasurer, Todd Holland as First Vice-President, Ron Howard as Second Vice-President, Gina Prince-Bythewood as Third Vice-President, Seith Mann as Fourth Vice-President, Millicent Shelton as Fifth Vice-President, Lily Olszewski as Sixth Vice-President and Joyce Thomas as Assistant Secretary-Treasurer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tNolan called the position \u201cone of the greatest honors of my career,\u201d adding, \u201cOur industry is experiencing tremendous change, and I thank the Guild\u2019s membership for entrusting me with this responsibility. I also want to thank President Glatter for her leadership over the past four years. I look forward to collaborating with her and the newly elected Board to achieve important creative and economic protections for our members.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn a statement on the election, the AMPTP said, \u201cThe AMPTP congratulates Christopher Nolan on his election as President of the Directors Guild of America.
