The generosity of North Texans just reached new heights, and then some. The Communities Foundation of Texas announced that the 17th annual North Texas Giving Day set new records for giving.<\/strong><\/p>\n

More than 94,000 donors gave $74.2 million to 3,500 local nonprofits across causes from education, health, and social services to arts, the environment, and animal welfare. The foundation said this year also saw a record number of participating nonprofits.<\/p>\n

\u201cNorth Texans once again showed the extraordinary power of collective generosity,\u201d Wayne White, president and CEO of Communities Foundation of Texas, said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe need in our community this year is great, with many nonprofits in our region having experienced unexpected funding changes. Thanks to individuals, families, and businesses giving back in record-breaking ways, North Texas Giving Day is helping meet that need,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The foundation said the total raised since North Texas Giving Day\u2019s inception stands at $710 million and cements the community\u2019s long-standing dedication to making a difference in support of thousands of nonprofits across the region.<\/p>\n

Since its inception, North Texas Giving Day has raised $710 million, the foundation said. By comparison, in 2024 more than 88,000 North Texans donated $70 million to 3,284 nonprofits.<\/p>\n

Billed by the foundation as the largest regional fundraising event in the nation, North Texas Giving Day aims to empower anyone to support local nonprofits via donations. <\/p>\n

\"\"Vickie Yakunin, head of Community Affairs at Amazon, calls North Texas Giving Day an \u201cinspiring reminder of what\u2019s possible when a community comes together.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAmazon is proud to stand alongside thousands of nonprofits and the generous individuals who made this a record-breaking year of impact,\u201d she said in a statement.<\/p>\n

CFT said it covers transaction and technology fees\u2014alongside sponsors such as Amazon\u2014so that 100% of every tax-deductible donation made on NorthTexasGivingDay.org goes directly to local nonprofits. <\/p>\n

The City of Dallas issued a proclamation recognizing Sept. 18 as North Texas Giving Day, the foundation said.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor those who didn\u2019t yet make a donation through North Texas Giving Day, there\u2019s still time, as there\u2019s no deadline on generosity. NorthTexasGivingDay.org remains open for giving and every dollar donated supports local organizations,\u201d White said.\"\"<\/p>\n

Next year\u2019s North Texas Giving Day will be Sept. 17, 2026.<\/p>\n

Sponsors supporting this year\u2019s effort include presenting sponsor Amazon and leading funders such as Charles Schwab, Hunt Cares, Lyda Hill Philanthropies, The Meadows Foundation, and The Rees-Jones Foundation. A full sponsor list is available on NorthTexasGivingDay.org.<\/p>\n
