While these numbers aren’t gaudy, the holes are beginning to open up as the Aggies head into SEC play.

From a numbers perspective, Texas A&M’s O-line has only allowed two sacks in all three games, including zero against Notre Dame’s respectable defensive front. The critical question this offseason was how well the offensive line would hold up in pass protection.

While the two sacks allowed certainly ring true, it’s given starting quarterback Marcel Reed more time to go through his reads and make timely, crisp passes, or bail out and make a play upfield with his legs. Through three games, Reed has thrown 869 yards and nine touchdowns, combined with transfer wide receiver Mario Craver leading the NCAA with 443 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

According to PFSN College (Pro Football & Sports Network), analyst Cam Mellor released the highest-rated offensive lines in the NCAA, with Texas A&M’s veteran O-line coming in at No. 7 among seven other SEC programs, which isn’t at all surprising.

This is based on overall efficiency, noting the Aggies’ vast improvement in pass protection, while the rushing game has slowly but surely improved, and should continue to make gains within SEC play. Outside of defensive improvement, for Texas A&M to continue winning both at home and on the road, efficient blocking is a significant part of the winning formula.

Contact/Follow us @AggiesWire on X (formerly Twitter) and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Texas A&M news, notes and opinions. Follow Cameron on X: @CameronOhnysty.

This article originally appeared on Aggies Wire: PFSN College ranks Texas A&M football’s O-line as a Top 10 unit

Texas A&M’s offensive line this season has been stellar in pass protection, and over the past two weeks,…

[43
105562,5027,723,1318,357,121564,120326,11012,9540,1317,1315,1316,3336,19414,18266,22240,5847,129897,5835,62,11426,67,132,68,64171
0":"post-243707","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-ncaa-football","8":"tag-aggies","9":"tag-arkansas","10":"tag-florida","11":"tag-football","12":"tag-kentucky","13":"tag-marcel-reed","14":"tag-mario-craver","15":"tag-mississippi-state","16":"tag-missouri","17":"tag-ncaa","18":"tag-ncaa-football","19":"tag-ncaafootball","20":"tag-nebraska","21":"tag-notre-dame","22":"tag-offensive-line","23":"tag-ohio-state","24":"tag-oklahoma","25":"tag-pass-protection","26":"tag-penn-state","27":"tag-sports","28":"tag-texas-am","29":"tag-united-states","30":"tag-unitedstates","31":"tag-us","32":"tag-utah-state
["GET
