The Los Angeles Rams lost to the Philadelphia Eagles by a final score 33-26 after the Rams had a last second kick blocked, and after the Rams blew a 26-7 lead. The Rams didn\u2019t look terrible for much of the game, but then something switched as the Eagles took control and ensured that L.A. has a long flight back home wondering what went wrong?<\/p>\n
Matthew Stafford threw an interception on the opening drive which allowed Philly to take an early 7-0 lead with a Jalen Hurts rushing score, but after that mistake, the Rams controlled the game for two quarters by putting up 19 unanswered points.<\/p>\n
Vic Fangio\u2019s defense was able to keep Philly in the contest by causing Sean McVay and his offense to stall out in the red zone multiple times.<\/p>\n
After initially trailing, the Rams rallied with field goals and touchdowns to Davante Adams and then Kyren Williams, and when the Rams led 26-7, it looked like the they may run away with it.<\/p>\n
Joshua Karty was called upon more than once, and the young kicker delivered for his team more often than not, but the Rams could\u2019ve put this game away had they finished their drives with TDs, instead the Eagles hung around, and this game was a tight one despite how much better the Rams played in the first half.<\/p>\n
The defense of the Rams was fantastic for most of the game causing Hurts to fumble (leading to the William\u2019s TD), and overall holding off what most think should be a top offense with Saquan Barkley, Hurts and plenty of pass catchers to boot.<\/p>\n
Despite how impressive the Rams were looking for over half the game, the Eagles willed their way back into the fight and came alive in quarters three and four as Hurts found Dallas Goedart and AJ Brown to get his team within six points as the Rams lead was cut down to a 26-21 score.<\/p>\n
In the fourth quarter, the Rams had a chance to add another field goal to make the score 29-21, but instead, the kick was blocked as the Eagles reminded the Rams why they are the defending Super Bowl champs. It was another missed opportunity by the Rams on offense, and another great chance by the Eagles whose offense seem to come alive in crunch time.<\/p>\n
The Eagles took advantage of L.A.\u2019s mistake with a go-ahead touchdown with under 2-minutes to go in the game as the Rams choked away a double-digit lead and were trailing.<\/p>\n
The silver lining was that there was still over a minute left on the clock, giving Stafford a chance to take the lead before the end of regulation, and they set up Karty for another field goal, but for the second time in a row, the Eagles blocked the kick and won the game.<\/p>\n
