PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 A man is dead after being shot in a west Phoenix neighborhood early Sunday morning. <\/p>\n

Around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the area of 51st Avenue and McDowell Road<\/a> for reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found a man who had been shot at least once. He was pronounced dead on the scene. His name has not yet been released.<\/p>\n

Detectives are now investigating what led up to the deadly shooting. Authorities said the area will be blocked off for an extended period of time. Phoenix police did not say if they had any suspects in custody. <\/p>\n

Police are expected to release more information later in the day.<\/p>\n
