books of England\u2019s U21 side following a superb final against Germany at the Euros.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/ethan-nwaneri\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ethan Nwaneri<\/a> played 30 minutes in a 3-2 win for England against Germany, one that was secured with a winner in extra-time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/arsenal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arsenal\u2019s<\/a> Nwaneri was on the bench from the beginning and wasn\u2019t introduced until the beginning of extra-time, but the 18-year-old still played a significant role.<\/p>\n<p>Marseille\u2019s Jonathan Rowe put England 3-2 ahead shortly after Nwaneri came onto the pitch, and the Arsenal youngster played with serious maturity in difficult circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>Nwaneri was holding up the ball, being physical with Germany\u2019s back line and also proving very effective in transition.<\/p>\n<p>Ethan Nwaneri stars in Martin Odegaard\u2019s role for England U21s<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/ethan-nwaneri-can-save-arsenal-110m-after-showing-serious-threat-in-a-new-position-for-england-u21s\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nwaneri played several positions for England U21s<\/a> at the tournament and manager Lee Carsley clearly has a lot of faith in the Arsenal youngster.<\/p>\n<p>But perhaps it was telling that Nwaneri finally played his preferred number 10 role in the final, and the 18-year-old\u2019s 30 minute cameo should have been excellent watching for Arteta.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" Odegaard when he\u2019s sitting alongside Kai Havertz for Arsenal\u2019s first team.<\/p>\n<p>Nwaneri was effectively playing as the second striker in a 4-4-2 for England, particularly when Carsley\u2019s side didn\u2019t have the ball.<\/p>\n<p>And given that <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/arsenal-might-have-just-changed-their-ethan-nwaneri-plan-after-60m-transfer-decision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nwaneri will compete with Odegaard<\/a> for a first team role next season, it was seriously encouraging to see the youngster play with so much conviction.<\/p>\n<p>Nwaneri is about to change position at Arsenal<\/p>\n<p>So far in an Arsenal shirt, Nwaneri has made the bulk of his appearances as a right winger, mostly stepping in for Bukayo Saka when he was injured during the second half of last season.<\/p>\n<p>But throughout Nwaneri\u2019s time in the Hale End Academy he was a central player, a number 10 who even looked like a striker the 2024\/25 campaign for Arsenal (source: Transfermarkt). <\/p>\n<p>And following a rest over the coming weeks, Nwaneri has proven that he is ready to compete with Odegaard, even if he is captaining Arteta\u2019s side.<\/p>\n<p>Nwaneri\u2019s promising performances even prove that <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/andrea-berta-needs-to-tell-34m-arsenal-player-to-find-a-new-club-immediately-this-summer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arsenal can sell Fabio Vieira<\/a> following his year on loan at FC Porto without too much hesitation.<\/p>\n<p><a
