BEXAR COUNTY, Texas<\/strong> \u2013 A Bexar County man who fled the state while out on bond earlier this year was sentenced to 40 years in prison for three counts of aggravated robbery, court records show.<\/p>\n

Bexar County District Court Judge Ron Rangel sentenced William Best in the 379th District Court on Friday. He is accused of a home invasion on April 13, 2023, in east Bexar County. <\/p>\n

The Bexar County Sheriff\u2019s Office previously said multiple people were tied up and held at gunpoint during a \u201cviolent\u201d home invasion<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Best allegedly had tied up three teenagers, pistol-whipped one in the head and forced another to open gun safes, an investigator from the case told KSAT.<\/p>\n

Best was scheduled to appear in court on June 26. However, authorities said he removed his GPS monitor and told his attorney he would not show up. <\/p>\n

A warrant was issued for his arrest, and Best was found a month later in Fayette County, Kentucky, by the U.S. Marshals, BCSO previously said. <\/p>\n

Best was extradited back to Bexar County and pled guilty to three counts of aggravated robbery on July 30, the investigator told KSAT.<\/p>\n
