{"id":245125,"date":"2025-09-22T00:46:20","date_gmt":"2025-09-22T00:46:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/245125\/"},"modified":"2025-09-22T00:46:20","modified_gmt":"2025-09-22T00:46:20","slug":"its-a-busy-week-for-the-un-general-assembly-enjoy-the-traffic-new-yorkers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/245125\/","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s a busy week for the UN General Assembly \u2014 enjoy the traffic, New Yorkers!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>It\u2019s one busy &amp; holy week<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a special week.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/20\/opinion\/get-set-for-the-uns-week-of-obscene-israel-bashing-lies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UN\u2019s schlepping in<\/a>, which will make traffic tougher to get through than your closet.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also the week, or day, or minute, or whatever for the Sun to move away from the Earth which means something \u2014 I don\u2019t know what.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also the close of the San Gennaro festival which means everyone wanting spaghetti will clog uptown restaurants.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/21\/us-news\/charlie-kirk-funeral-hits-capacity-as-200k-people-turn-out\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Charlie Kirk\u2019s funeral<\/a>. Wait. More. It marks the first day of autumn.<\/p>\n<p>My computer doesn\u2019t like me today and my Yorkie just did something not nice on my kitchen floor.<\/p>\n<p>Also, it\u2019s a holy week. Rosh Hashanah. Which means it\u2019s followed by another holy week \u2014 Yom Kippur. Which means I have to be kindly, not knock anyone, and give thanks for all we have. Which also means no columns from me for the remainder of this week.<\/p>\n<p>Which means I just had a long talk with my broker. Answers to he\/she\/they. Plays transgender. Calls themself \u201cnonconforming.\u201d For stopping the show cold every performance, they won 2023\u2019s Tony for \u201cShucked.\u201d And told me \u2014 what they wanted their whole show business life \u2014 is to star in \u201cDreamgirls.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They also told me: \u201cYou can do anything in life as long as you put your mind to it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>We\u2019ve got the Waldorf! Jealous?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you toured the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/17\/lifestyle\/lex-yards-at-the-new-waldorf-is-a-wonder-that-reinvents-the-legendary-hotels-stuffy-old-reputation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">newly rejuiced Waldorf<\/a>, it\u2019s great, shiny, terrific. Like NYC once was.<\/p>\n<p>To quote Hizzoner\u00a0Eric Adams: \u201cHouston, we have a problem \u2014 but New York is too important to the country. The way New York goes so goes America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yeah. Right. And where else you going to find the fabulous Waldorf? So elegant, so gorgeous that you could book the Ladies Lounge for a week stay.<\/p>\n<p>Also, even terrific is our fabulous Second Avenue Deli. They got maybe a Second Avenue Deli in downtown Montana? Stuffed cabbage in Utah?<\/p>\n<p><strong>It\u2019s New York.
