The third Grand Slam tournament of the year is right around the corner, with the Wimbledon championships set to begin on the 30th of June. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, several stars have already announced their withdrawals from the event.<\/p>\n

Former finalist Nick Kyrgios withdrew from Wimbledon<\/a> earlier in the month, announcing he would miss the entire grass-court season.<\/p>\n

Sebastian Korda<\/a> pulled out, citing a stress fracture in his shin, and saying on his Instagram story: \u201cIt\u2019s been a tough 12 months, but better days ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also set to miss Wimbledon is former US Open finalist Kei Nishikori<\/a>, who has been suffering from lower back pain. <\/p>\n

Now another ATP<\/a> star has been added to the list, just over a week before the start of the championships. <\/p>\n

As per French outlet L\u2019Equipe<\/a>, world number 15 Arthur Fils<\/a> has withdrawn from the 2025 Wimbledon championships due to injury. <\/p>\n

Fils had previously withdrawn from his third-round match with Andrey Rublev<\/a> at Roland Garros due to a stress fracture in his back.<\/p>\n

The French number one did not feature at either Queen\u2019s or the Halle Open, with his last match the second-round clash with Jaume Munar in Paris. <\/p>\n

Fabio Fognini will take the place of Fils at Wimbledon, making his 15th appearance in South West London. <\/p>\n

After his short-lived Roland Garros campaign, Fils spoke to the media about his current injury situation. <\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019m going to have to undergo surgery, I don\u2019t think so. It\u2019s a good question, but I don\u2019t think so.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs for the grass season, as I said earlier, I don\u2019t know yet. We\u2019ll see if I can be ready for Wimbledon. I\u2019m not sure. We\u2019ll see. It\u2019s on hold for the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will take time. I\u2019m only 20 years old. I don\u2019t want to be in a hurry on the tour. I don\u2019t need to ramp up everything. I need to be ready for the hard court season, for the end of the year, and this is for the best.\u201d<\/p>\n
