A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries Sunday morning after a single-vehicle crash that closed part of Norwell Drive in Nanaimo for several hours.<\/p>\n

RCMP say the collision happened near the intersection of 105th Street and Norwell Drive, just behind Country Club Mall.<\/p>\n

Witnesses said a white van appeared to be involved and damaged in the crash, which caused a five-hour road closure as investigators worked at the scene.<\/p>\n

No other vehicles were involved and police say only minor property damage occurred in the area.<\/p>\n

Nanaimo Fire Rescue says four units, including two engines and a rescue truck, were dispatched to the scene following the initial call at 5:19 a.m.<\/p>\n

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.<\/p>\n
