Angelina Jolie <\/a>has commented on the United States\u2019 political climate<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, the Maria actor<\/a>, 50, attended the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain for the premiere of her latest movie, Couture, where she was asked \u201cWhat do you fear as an artist and an American?\u201d<\/p>\n

After a brief pause, she admitted it was \u201ca very difficult question.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have to say that I love my country and I don\u2019t, at this time, recognize my country,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve always lived internationally. My family is international. My life, my world view, is equal [and] united. Anything, anywhere that divides or limits personal expressions and freedoms [for anyone] I think is very dangerous.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think these are such serious times that we have to be careful not to say things casually. So I\u2019ll be careful in a press conference\u2026 But these are very, very heavy times.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jolie\u2019s comments come a few days after ABC announced it would suspend Jimmy Kimmel\u2019s late-night show<\/a> \u201cindefinitely\u201d after the host\u2019s comments about the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.<\/a><\/p>\n

Kimmel accused the \u201cMAGA gang\u201d of trying to \u201cscore political points\u201d in their reaction to Kirk\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

Jolie also recently looked into relocating outside of the U.S. last month<\/a>, according to a report from People. The report claimed the Maleficent actor was considering \u201cseveral locations abroad\u201d while preparing to sell her Los Angeles home.<\/p>\n

According to People, Jolie \u201cnever wanted to live in L.A. full time,\u201d but was limited by a custody arrangement with ex-husband Brad Pitt. The former Hollywood power couple reached a divorce settlement in December.<\/p>\n

The star \u201cplans to relocate as soon as Knox and Viv turn 18 next year. She’s eyeing several locations abroad. She’ll be very happy when she’s able to leave Los Angeles,\u201d a source told the outlet at the time.<\/p>\n

Couture follows Jolie, playing a 40-year-old film director who is asked to put something together for a Paris Fashion Week show.
