SAN ANTONIO <\/strong> \u2013 During this year\u2019s San Antonio Startup Week<\/a>, teams of high school students will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a wide range of other entrepreneurs, investors and business owners. <\/p>\n

\u201cSo, over half of our country drinks soda every single day, and they know the terrible effects it leaves,\u201d said the Fizi team from Alamo Heights Business Incubator. \u201cAll over the internet we see that even stevia has negative effects; there (are) terrible things in Coke, Diet Coke. So we wanted that one solution that just had completely clean ingredients.\u201d<\/p>\n

Several high school programs, including the Heights Business Incubator<\/a> at Alamo Heights High School, work to help students create their own startup ideas while teaching them how to run a business. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe would love to keep it going. We\u2019ve obviously created an awesome team that we want to work with for as long as we can,” said another member from Fizi. <\/p>\n

Fizi, an all-natural and healthier approach to soda, is the brainchild of five students who have spent the last year working on their business plan. <\/p>\n

At a school pitching competition among 25 other teams, Fizi took second place and was able to receive a thousand dollars in investment money from the school board. <\/p>\n
