It was a busy weekend for our loanees as they continued to settle into their new homes, and Fabio Vieira<\/strong> made a major impact as Hamburg secured their first Bundesliga win of the season.<\/p>\n

The Portuguese midfielder assisted Rayan Philippe on 59 minutes for what turned out to be the decisive goal in a 2-1 home success over Heidenheim. Fabio played 79 minutes in Saturday’s victory, and was afforded a standing ovation when he departed the field, with the stadium PA announcer saying: \u201cWe haven\u2019t had someone like him at the Volkspark for a long time.”<\/p>\n

Fabio has made quite the impression at Hamburg, with his head coach Merlin Polzin adding: \u201cFabio is a player who can make the difference. He\u2019s a real prize! He always manages to make good use of his teammates.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jakub Kiwior<\/strong> once again contributed to a win and clean sheet for Porto, as they continued their 100% record in the Liga Portugal. Jakub played the full 90 minutes at centre-half as his side won 3-0 at Rio Ave on Friday night.<\/p>\n

Oleksandr Zinchenko<\/strong> made his first two appearances for Nottingham Forest within the past week, including all 90 minutes in Saturday’s 1-1 Premier League draw at Burnley. He also played the full match for his debut on Wednesday night, as Forest fell to a 3-2 Carabao Cup defeat by Swansea City.<\/p>\n

Tuesday evening saw Reiss Nelson<\/strong> make his bow for Brentford, scoring in a successful penalty shootout to eliminate Aston Villa from the Carabao Cup. Reiss was however not in the squad against his former loan club Fulham on Saturday night, while Karl Hein<\/strong> was an unused substitute in Werder Bremen’s 3-0 loss to Freiburg on Saturday in the Bundesliga.<\/p>\n

Ismeal Kabia<\/strong> played the full match for Shrewsbury Town on Saturday as the League Two outfit were beaten 2-0 by Harrogate Town, while Lucas Nygaard<\/strong> made his debut for Danish second division side Brabrand in their 3-2 defeat by Skive – pulling off eight saves despite ending on the losing side. Another player making their debut was Maldini Kacurri<\/strong>, who helped Morecambe win their first game in six as they beat Wealdstone 4-3 in a thriller to move them up to 22nd in the National League.<\/p>\n

In the Women’s Super League, Rosa Kafaji<\/strong> enjoyed a superb day on Sunday for Brighton & Hove Albion, scoring one and assisting another in their 4-1 win over West Ham United, playing 71 minutes. Michelle Agyemang<\/strong> played the full 90 minutes for the Seagulls in the victory on the south coast.<\/p>\n

Cecily Wellesley-Smith<\/strong> was not in the Leicester City squad who gave champions Chelsea a stern battle on Sunday, but emerged on the end of a 1-0 defeat, with neither Naomi Williams<\/strong> nor Vivienne Lia<\/strong> featuring for their respective sides as Bristol City beat Southampton 1-0. Williams was the reserve goalkeeper for the Robins in the contest.<\/p>\n

Portsmouth Women netted their first three points of the campaign with a 1-0 home win over Sheffield United on Sunday afternoon, as Jessie Gale<\/strong> started and played 58 minutes.<\/p>\n

Madison Earl<\/strong> was an unused substitute for Ipswich Town in a credible goalless draw away at Charlton Athletic, while in Sunday’s early hours, Laila Herbert<\/strong> was named on the bench but did not feature in Portland Thorns’ 1-1 NWSL draw with San Diego Wave.<\/p>\n
