{"id":246776,"date":"2025-09-22T17:03:18","date_gmt":"2025-09-22T17:03:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/246776\/"},"modified":"2025-09-22T17:03:18","modified_gmt":"2025-09-22T17:03:18","slug":"pimax-delays-dream-air-and-dream-air-se-to-december-slam-versions-likely-to-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/246776\/","title":{"rendered":"Pimax Delays Dream Air and Dream Air SE to December, SLAM Versions Likely to 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pimax issued an update detailing its upcoming fleet of micro-OLED PC VR headsets, which also included info on a delay affecting its thin and light headsets, Dream Air and Dream Air SE.<\/p>\n<p>The update, seen at the bottom of the article, details three products Pimax is preparing to ship:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/pimax.com\/pages\/dream-air\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Dream Air<\/strong> <\/a>\u2013 Thin and light\u00a0PC VR headset containing Sony Micro OLED panels (3,840 \u00d7 3,552 pixels per eye) and concave-view pancake optics, delivering 110\u00b0 horizontal FOV, eye-tracking, auto-IPD adjustment, spatial audio, and DisplayLink.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/pimax.com\/products\/pimax-dream-air-se\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Dream Air SE<\/strong> <\/a>\u2013 Lower resolution version of Dream Air containing Sony Micro OLED panels (2,560 \u00d7 2,560 pixels per eye) and all of the above, except with 105\u00b0 horizonal FOV.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/pimax.com\/products\/pimax-crystal-super-sony-8k-micro-oled\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Crystal Super (Micro OLED Engine)<\/strong> <\/a>\u2013 A new swappable optical module for Pimax\u2019s flagship Crystal Super, serving up to 116\u00b0 horizontal FOV with the same panels and lenses as Dream Air.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pimax announced\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadtovr.com\/pimax-dream-air-announcement-auto-tightening-headstrap\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dream Air<\/a>\u00a0last December, which was set to serve up competition to thin and light PC VR headsets like Bigscreen Beyond\u00a0and Shiftall MaganeX Superlight 8K. While launch was initially planned for May 2025, the headset was subsequently delayed to Q3 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Pimax says both the SteamVR tracking versions of Dream Air and Dream Air SE, the latter of which was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roadtovr.com\/pimax-delays-thin-light-dream-air-pc-vr-headset-to-q3-2025-reveals-cheaper-dream-air-se-version\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced in May<\/a>, are scheduled to ship sometime in December.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/dream-air-person.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy lazy-hidden size-full wp-image-125045\" data-lazy-type=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/dream-air-person.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\"  \/><\/a>Pimax Dream Air | Image courtesy Pimax<\/p>\n<p>While the SteamVR tracking version (aka \u2018Lighthouse\u2019) are shipping this year, Pimax is offering SLAM versions of both headsets, which don\u2019t require external base stations. The SLAM variants are said to start an \u201cexternal beta test\u201d in December\u2014so no word on when those ship just yet.<\/p>\n<p>As for Crystal Super\u2019s new swappable micro-OLED optical module, a version of the headset containing the module will start shipping in October. There\u2019s no mention of whether that also means prior Crystal Super owners will be able to purchase the module by itself in that time frame.<\/p>\n<p>Check out all the specs, price and release date info Pimax announced during its big update below:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"td_quote_box td_box_center\">\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: Pimax breaks up its pricing structure with an upfront cost of around 60% of the final price.
