{"id":247124,"date":"2025-09-22T20:19:18","date_gmt":"2025-09-22T20:19:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/247124\/"},"modified":"2025-09-22T20:19:18","modified_gmt":"2025-09-22T20:19:18","slug":"nyc-boy-13-clinging-to-life-after-being-shot-in-head-outside-queens-dunkin-donuts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/247124\/","title":{"rendered":"NYC boy, 13, clinging to life after being shot in head outside Queens Dunkin Donuts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 13-year-old boy was shot in the head outside a Queens Dunkin\u2019 Donuts Monday morning, leaving him clinging to life, cops said.<\/p>\n<p>The boy was struck when a gunman opened fire around 8:20 a.m. in front of the shop at the corner of <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/22\/us-news\/nyc-boy-13-clinging-to-life-after-being-shot-in-head-outside-queens-dunkin-donuts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Linden and Springfield boulevards in Cambria Heights<\/a>, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Cops could not immediately confirm whether the teen was headed to school at the time that he was shot, but the scene is just blocks from P.S.\/M.S. 147 Ronald McNair, Benjamin Franklin High School, P.S. 176 Cambria Heights\u00a0and others.<\/p>\n<p>The youthful-looking suspect \u2014 last seen wearing a white hoodie, white sneakers and carrying a black backpack \u2014 ran off after the shooting, sources said.<\/p>\n<p>Officials arrive at the scene of the shooting. He dead!&#8217;\u201d recalled the woman, who did not want to be identified. \u201cSo I try to get him to breathe \u2014 I call 911, talking to him, telling him to \u2018Breathe, breathe, breathe.\u2019 He just start crying, and I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 911 caller\u00a0said she pressed the dispatcher to send an ambulance quickly.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Police tape blocks off the scene of the crime. Kyle Mazza\/Shutterstock<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd then as soon as I heard the sirens, that\u2019s when he just tilt over and you see all the mucus coming out of his nose and his mouth,\u201d she said, adding of the first responders, \u201cThey just swooped him up and they put him in the ambulance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The woman, who has a 5-year-old daughter, was shaken by the violence that hit so close to home.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat could\u2019ve been anybody\u2019s kid,\u201d she said through tears.The motive for the shooting remained under investigation.<\/p>\n<p>The boy is fighting for his life after being shot in the head. Kyle Mazza\/Shutterstock<\/p>\n<p>A 47-year-old woman who works at the Speedway gas station across the street said she never heard the gunshot,\u00a0but witnessed the heartbreaking aftermath.\u00a0\u201cI saw the kid before the ambulance came,\u201d she said. \u201cA baby boy. Lying on the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kids often stop into the Dunkin Donuts before heading to one of the nearby schools, the gas station worker said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel scared. Yes, as a mother,\u201d she said. \u201cI just dropped my 9-year-old off this morning before I came to work.
