{"id":247189,"date":"2025-09-22T20:59:12","date_gmt":"2025-09-22T20:59:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/247189\/"},"modified":"2025-09-22T20:59:12","modified_gmt":"2025-09-22T20:59:12","slug":"apple-music-in-ios-26-1-adds-a-new-gesture-to-switch-songs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/247189\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple Music in iOS 26.1 adds a new gesture to switch songs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t<img width=\"1600\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/apple-music-ios-26-1-swipe-gesture.jpg\" class=\"skip-lazy wp-post-image\" alt=\"\"  decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Apple Music users <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2025\/08\/05\/heres-everything-new-coming-to-apple-music-in-ios-26\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">just got a ton of new features<\/a> in iOS 26 last week, but it seems Apple has even more in the works for its next big iPhone update. iOS 26.1 <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2025\/09\/22\/ios-26-1-beta-1-changes-everything-new\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">arrived in beta today<\/a>, and introduces a new swipe gesture for switching between tracks in Apple\u2019s Music app.<\/p>\n<p>iOS 26.1 beta lets you swipe on MiniPlayer to change tracks<\/p>\n<p>Apple\u2019s Music app in iOS 26 changed up the bottom of the screen where the MiniPlayer lives.<\/p>\n<p>Now, when the tab bar is collapsed, it gets merged into a single row with the MiniPlayer and search controls.<\/p>\n<p>But despite the MiniPlayer now being smaller much of the time inside the Music app, it\u2019s gaining a new feature in iOS 26.1.<\/p>\n<p>New in iOS 26.1 beta 1, you can now swipe left and right on the MiniPlayer to change tracks.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/apple-music-ios-26-1-swipe.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1020856\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>This works whether the MiniPlayer is fully expanded above the tab bar, or shrunk down next to the tab bar.<\/p>\n<p>The new swipe gesture feels great, aided by some nice Liquid Glass effects and a tap of haptic feedback when the track is changed.<\/p>\n<p>Swiping left advances to the next song in your queue, while swiping right goes back to the prior track.<\/p>\n<p>After very limited testing, the gesture became second nature to me. It\u2019s a great alternative to using the standard seek controls in the Now Playing screen.<\/p>\n<p>Do you think you\u2019ll use the new swipe gesture in iOS 26.1 for Apple Music?
