Angelina Jolie spoke up about the free speech debate going on in the United States.<\/p>\n
The Oscar-winning actress was asked at a film festival in Spain over the weekend, \u201cWhat do you fear as an artist and an American?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a very difficult question,\u201d Jolie responded, according The Guardian<\/a>,<\/p>\n \u201cI love my country, but at this time, I don\u2019t recognize my country,\u201d Jolie said. \u201cI\u2019ve always lived internationally, my family is international, my friends, my life.\u201d<\/p>\n She went on to say, \u201cMy worldview is equal, united and international. Anything anywhere that divides or limits personal expressions and freedoms from anyone, I think, is very dangerous.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThese are such serious times that we have to be careful not to say things casually,\u201d Jolie said. \u201cThese are very, very heavy times we are living in together.\u201d<\/p>\n Her remarks come on the heels of Jimmy Kimmel\u2019s late-night show being \u201cindefinitely\u201d pulled from the airwaves by ABC<\/a> amid controversy over his recent comments about reaction to Charlie Kirk\u2019s death.<\/p>\n Jolie was at the festival to premiere her forthcoming film, \u201cCouture.\u201d<\/p>\n
