A 29-year-old Kalgoorlie man is set to face court today after detectives from WA Police’s Homicide Squad charged him with murder, two days after the death of a man in the state’s Goldfields. \u00a0<\/p>\n
He is accused of deliberately hitting a 42-year-old man, whose identity is not yet known, with a vehicle in the Kalgoorlie suburb of West Lamington.<\/p>\n
Police allege the man was struck about 1:35am on Sunday, but emergency services say they were not alerted until 5:50am, more than four hours later.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 42-year-old man was found unconscious with critical injuries on Hawkins Street near the Kalgoorlie Arboretum, a popular dog exercise park, and died at the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police responded alongside St John Ambulance crews to reports of an unconscious man on Hawkins Street, near Memorial Drive, which runs parallel to the Kalgoorlie Cemetery, about 5:50am on Sunday. \u00a0<\/p>\n
Forensic officers and detectives have been at the scene for the past two days, with the arboretum and surrounding streets cordoned off. \u00a0<\/p>\n
The 29-year-old man, who was remanded in custody overnight, is due to appear in the Kalgoorlie Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n
