Golf commentator Brandel Chamblee didn\u2019t just have a hot take on Monday; it was a scorcher as he took aim at Bryson DeChambeau on Golf Channel\u2019s \u201cLive From\u201d ahead of the Ryder Cup\u00a0this week on Long Island.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chamblee equated the two-time U.S. Open champion to a \u201ccircus-barker\u201d and labeled him a \u201ccaptain\u2019s nightmare\u201d during an on-air diatribe with the pristine Bethpage Black course in the background.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The conversation started after Golf Channel\u2019s Todd Lewis spoke with DeChambeau and had him react to comments from Rory McIlroy<\/a>, who said during an interview with The Guardian that the only way that the American golfer can get attention was by \u201cmentioning other people.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Chamblee first took aim at DeChambeau playing in LIV Golf, calling it the \u201cwitness protection program,\u201d according to Golf Digest.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody watches, he doesn\u2019t get any attention. So, when he does come out, there\u2019s a bit of a circus-barker element to it to drum up some interest for himself,\u201d the golf commentator opined.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But he didn\u2019t stop there, going on to take a shot at the golfer\u2019s retort to McIlroy\u2019s comment and how DeChambeau seemed to focus on his YouTube channel.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHe didn\u2019t talk about playing on a team and how much that meant,\u201d Chamblee said. \u201cWhat he did do was talk about his YouTube channel, which, if we want to talk about the numbers that are generated from that, it\u2019s pretty dubious. I have no doubt that bots are generating a lot of those views. There may be some interest as well, but that\u2019s what he wants to talk about? Not the team, not the Ryder Cup.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s one of the reasons why I think he\u2019s going to be such a difficult person to get paired with. No doubt he\u2019s one hell of a golfer, no doubt he has his moments and generosity with fans, I\u2019ve heard about it. But he\u2019s an odd duck when he\u2019s trying to blend in with the team. And he has so many potential bulletin board mistakes, and I think he would be a captain\u2019s nightmare.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

While LIV Golf has had to fight to gain an audience and following, DeChambeau has become one of the most recognizable golfers on either tour \u2013 PGA or LIV \u2013 due to his popular YouTube videos, which have helped grow his fanbase.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His popular \u201cBreak 50\u201d series included a round with President Donald Trump<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As for the pairings that captain Keegan Bradley will put out when the Ryder Cup begins later this week, he has kept that pretty guarded.\u00a0<\/p>\n
