Our third installment of the America East Basketball previews takes us to Durham, NH<\/strong>, where the University of New Hampshire Wildcats<\/strong> are preparing for the 2025\u201326 season. Head coach Nathan Davis<\/strong>, now in his third year at the helm, looks to improve on last season\u2019s 8-24 overall record<\/strong> (6-11 in conference play). Davis will look to a mix of incoming freshmen and transfer portal additions to spark the turnaround.<\/p>\n

Incoming Freshmen
\nTyler Bike \u2013 Guard, 5-10, Merrimack, NH<\/p>\n

Bike arrives after a standout prep career at Trinity High School<\/strong> in Manchester, NH, and a stint at Phillips Exeter Academy<\/strong>. At Trinity, he averaged 25.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 2.5 steals<\/strong> during his junior year. He was a two-time All-NEPSAC Class A selection<\/strong> and helped Phillips Exeter reach the Class A championship game<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Myles Blackley \u2013 Guard, 6-4, Summit, NJ<\/p>\n

Blackley closed his career at Immaculate High School<\/strong> in Montclair, NJ, as a 1,000-point scorer<\/strong>. Last season he averaged 16.1 points per game<\/strong>, including seven 20-plus scoring nights. Coach Davis described him as \u201ca versatile perimeter player who can shoot and attack off the dribble.\u201d<\/p>\n

Transfer Portal Additions<\/p>\n

The New Hampshire Wildcats have significantly bolstered their roster for the upcoming season with the addition of seven new transfers who bring a mix of size, experience, and versatility. The frontcourt gains two international players: Belal El Shakery, a 6-8 forward from Wofford who recorded an 11-point, 12-rebound double-double in his opener last season, and Giannos Xanthopoulos, a 6-10 forward who was a member of the U18 Greece National Team. They are joined by junior college transfer John Squire, who started 33 games for City College of San Francisco, averaging 8.8 points and 6.5 rebounds. In the backcourt, the Wildcats add Comeh Emuobor, a 6-5 guard from Iona who once scored 20 points and grabbed 9 boards in a single game, as well as Kijan Robinson, a junior from Hofstra who shot 33% from three last year. The recruiting class is rounded out by R.J. Kennedy, a redshirt freshman from Middle Georgia Prep who averaged 23.7 points, and Jack Graham, a guard from Richmond who provides defensive energy and backcourt depth.<\/p>\n

Schedule Outlook<\/p>\n

The Wildcats\u2019 non-conference slate is a challenging one, featuring matchups against Clemson, Providence, Saint Louis, and Nebraska<\/strong> before America East play tips off. The team is set to begin its 16-game America East Conference slate at the end of December, with a highly anticipated home matchup against rival Vermont on December 30th. The double-round-robin schedule will see the Wildcats play eight home games and eight road games, including road trips to NJIT and UMBC in early January. UNH\u2019s conference schedule will run through the end of February, with their final home game of the regular season against Bryant on February 28th.<\/p>\n

With a blend of international talent, proven scorers, and young guards eager to make an impact, New Hampshire enters the 2025\u201326 season looking to climb the America East ladder. Coach Davis\u2019s third year could be pivotal in setting the tone for the program\u2019s future.<\/p>\n
