Gailard Sartain, known for his roles in \u201cHee Haw\u201d and \u201cFried Green Tomatoes,\u201d died at the age of 78.<\/p>\n
The Tulsa World <\/a>first reported the news.<\/p>\n Teresa Knox, CEO of The Church Studio in Tulsa, told TMZ <\/a>Gailard passed away this week after his health declined, but no official cause of death was given.<\/p>\n Sartain, who joined \u201cHee Haw\u201d in 1972, had more than 60 roles in TV and film, including \u201cThe Outsiders,\u201d \u201cThe Buddy Holly Story,\u201d \u201cMississippi Burning\u201d and \u201cErnest Goes to Jail.\u201d<\/p>\n News On 6 reports<\/a> the Outsiders House Museum called Sartain \u201ca proud Okie and one-of-a-kind talent,\u201d adding, \u201cHe\u2019ll be dearly missed and always remembered. Stay gold, Gailard.\u201d<\/p>\n TMZ reports the Church Studio — where Sartain\u2019s wife Mary Jo volunteered — called Gailard \u201can extraordinary actor, artist, and comedian.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI knew he wasn\u2019t in good health and hadn\u2019t been for a while,\u201d Victoria Hallman, who played Miss Honeydew on the TV show, told TMZ. <\/p>\n Earlier this year, Lulu Roman, the brash Hee Haw comedian <\/a>turned inspirational gospel singer, died at 78 in Bellingham, Washington.<\/p>\n Mark Heim is a reporter for The Alabama Media Group.
