Obtained by NY Post<\/p>\n<p>Upon arriving, officers learned that New York City Department of Sanitation workers had made the grisly discovery of the human skeletal remains in a garbage bag, cops said.<\/p>\n<p>Two supervised sanitation workers had loaded the covered remains into the hopper of a vehicle before noticing a foul odor, sources said. <\/p>\n<p>The workers were concerned that the bag, which appeared to be wrapped in tape and rope according to a photo obtained by The Post, could contain a body, and contacted authorities, according to sources.<\/p>\n<p>EMS workers later confirmed the remains appeared to belong to a woman, sources added.<\/p>\n<p>Idlewild Park, a preserve bordering the north of JFK Airport, is home to one of the largest remaining saltwater marshes in Queens.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37186022\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/general-view-dsny-sanitation-worker-6558761.jpg\" alt=\"A DSNY Sanitation worker in a high-visibility jacket and hat loads garbage bags into the back of a garbage truck at night in New York City.\" class=\"wp-image-37186022\"  \/>Two supervised sanitation workers had loaded the covered remains into the hopper of a vehicle before noticing a foul odor.
