JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 Two massive container cranes have arrived at JAXPORT\u2019s Blount Island terminal and are now being assembled.<\/p>\n
The cranes were shipped in parts from Ireland and made by Liebherr, a German crane manufacturer.<\/p>\n
Read: <\/b>JEA board approves $2.37 billion budget for fiscal year 2026<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n They\u2019re designed to handle bigger ships, able to reach across 19 containers and lift up to 65 long tons. <\/p>\n They also include energy-saving technology that creates power while lowering containers.<\/p>\n A third crane is still under construction in Ireland and is expected to arrive in December.
