However, the \u201cmeds\u201d piece of this grouping can overshadow a significant part of the industry \u2014 <\/strong>healthtech, and especially the software companies building digital tools for hospitals, research institutions and life sciences giants.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Our new Health Tech Heat Map showcases a range of standout medtech and digital health companies that are transforming patient care, diagnostics and clinical workflows throughout Greater Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Today, the region\u2019s healthtech and tech ecosystem<\/a> is booming, with over 235,000 high-skill jobs and a $92 billion valuation, a growth driven as much by software engineers, data scientists and digital health innovators as by biotech and life sciences breakthroughs.<\/p>\n

The investment is substantial. Investors have poured over $900 million<\/a> into healthtech, healthcare software, digital health and life sciences ventures in just the past year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Recent funding trends show that in just the last year<\/a>, regional healthtech startups secured over $35 million, while deal volume for the entire sector continues to grow.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Our global reputation as a health innovation capital is built on a collaborative spirit, not just infrastructure and headline deals. Actual progress occurs when clinicians, technologists, engineers and entrepreneurs connect, collaborate and support one another\u2019s work.\u00a0<\/p>\n

My company, Chariot Solutions, decided to organize Tech Talks for Health Tech after noticing a clear gap in opportunities for specialists in software, digital health and data science to connect and exchange ideas \u2014 especially those who work behind the scenes powering life sciences and healthcare organizations throughout the region.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While Philadelphia\u2019s ecosystem boasts a wealth of talent and a strong collaborative tradition, events focused on bringing together technologists across startups, R&D labs and industry partners have been less common outside biotech and clinical research.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The aim with this gathering is to create a space where software professionals and technology teams can engage directly, share practical challenges and form connections that strengthen the local healthtech community as a whole.<\/p>\n

Hosting Tech Talks for Health Tech<\/a>, with Joseph Kim of ProofPilot at Neuroflow\u2019s Center City headquarters, is an invitation to software professionals \u2014 product managers, designers, regulatory experts, and data scientists \u2014 to collaborate on building something bigger together with startups, anchor institutions, and R&D labs.<\/p>\n

In medtech, Proscia<\/a> uses artificial intelligence and image analysis to modernize cancer pathology labs, leading the way in digital diagnostics. Tendo Systems<\/a> develops digital engagement platforms connecting patients, clinicians, and caregivers for improved outcomes. Strados Labs<\/a> delivers cloud-based respiratory monitoring tools that enable real-time patient management for clinicians.<\/p>\n

Other companies highlighted on the map, such as PHRASE Health<\/a> (decision support for clinicians) and Keriton<\/a> (clinical workflow and breast milk management in hospital NICUs), further illustrate the region\u2019s rich diversity and continued momentum in both medtech and digital health domains.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This collection makes it clear: Greater Philadelphia\u2019s innovation economy is powered not just by biotech, but by an expanding network of software-driven health platforms, medical device startups, and integrated care solutions.<\/p>\n

By making these connections visible, the Heat Map and Health Tech Talks offer practical value for innovators looking to find partners, recruit talent or build new products.
