\n\tYeon Sang-ho<\/a>\u2018s \u201cThe Ugly<\/a>\u201d climbed to the top of the Korean box office with $1.9 million from 254,828 admissions over Sept. 19\u201321, edging past \u201cDemon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle<\/a>,\u201d which earned $1.7 million and settled for second. <\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to KOBIS, the tracking service operated by the Korean Film Council, \u201cThe Ugly\u201d has reached $5.4 million since opening on Sept. 11, while \u201cDemon Slayer\u201d stands at $37.4 million after a month in release.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Ugly\u201d stars Park Jeong-min alongside Kwon Hae-hyo, Shin Hyun-been, Im Seong-jae, and Han Ji-hyun. The plot follows Dong-hwan, the son of a visually impaired seal engraving master, who discovers skeletal remains and investigates the long-hidden truth about his mother\u2019s disappearance four decades earlier.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cDetective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback\u201d debuted in fourth place with $364,768 from 46,723 admissions. Directed by Shigehara Katsuya and written by Takeharu Sakurai (from the manga by Aoyama Gosho), the film features voice cast including Takayama Minami, Yamazaki Wakana and Koyama Rikiya. This instalment follows Conan as he aids Inspector Yamato and Detective Uehara in a case tied to a past gun-store robbery.<\/p>\n

\n\tBrad Pitt\u2019s \u201cF1\u201d ranked fifth with $204,817, pushing its cumulative total to $38.9 million since release.<\/p>\n

\n\tSouth Korean horror \u201cThe Cursed\u201d debuted in sixth with $264,417. Directed and written by Hong Won\u2011ki, the supernatural tale stars Moon Chae\u2011won, Yoo Jae\u2011myung, Seo Young\u2011hee, Won Hyun\u2011joon, Solar, Cha Sun\u2011woo, Bae Su\u2011min, and Seo Ji\u2011soo. The story centers on a hidden ghost market, the \u201cgwisi,\u201d that emerges when a mysterious fox window opens, granting people their desires in exchange for unsettling transformations.<\/p>\n

\n\tStage capture \u201cFrankenstein: The Musical Live\u201d debuted in seventh, grossing $466,144 from 176 screens. Korean crime drama \u201cMurder Report\u201d followed with $186,194, lifting its total to $2.53 million.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Conjuring: Last Rites\u201d placed ninth with $177,984, advancing its tally to $3.11 million. Rounding out the top 10, South Korean film \u201cMy Daughter is a Zombie\u201d added $87,444 for a cumulative $38 million.<\/p>\n
