According to the Power On newsletter from Bloomberg\u2019s Mark Gurman<\/a>, Apple still has a few more iOS 26 features in the pipeline. These features weren\u2019t announced at WWDC, though they were heavily rumored, and they should still arrive in the coming months.<\/p>\n

The two unannounced features are live translation via AirPods<\/a>, as well as syncing captive Wi-Fi connections across your entire Apple ecosystem. The former feature would\u2019ve allowed you to have live conversations with someone else in a different language, and hear it translated in real time via AirPods. This would\u2019ve been similar to other live translation features announced for iOS 26.<\/p>\n

The latter would\u2019ve made public Wi-Fi a much easier experience<\/a>, as it would\u2019ve eliminated the need to log into public Wi-Fi portals, such as those at coffee shops and hotels, across your entire Apple ecosystem. Once you logged into one, it\u2019d sync across them all.<\/p>\n

Gurman reported both of these features well in advance of WWDC, however they didn\u2019t quite arrive on the day of the keynote. He reports that this is due to the fact that Apple no longer wants to announce features months before they\u2019re ready to ship:<\/p>\n

At WWDC, Apple was careful not to announce anything that wasn\u2019t close to shipping (either in the first version of iOS 26 or an update soon after). The company didn\u2019t want to risk repeating WWDC 2024, where it announced several features \u2014\u00a0including some tentpole technology\u00a0\u2014\u00a0that were ultimately delayed by months or have\u00a0yet to arrive.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

These features should both arrive this year, according to Gurman. They\u2019ll should arrive in October\u2019s iOS 26.1 release or December\u2019s iOS 26.2 release, if they aren\u2019t added during the beta cycle.<\/p>\n
