tennis.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Bulgarian star hasn\u2019t played a match since Wimbledon, when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/grigor-dimitrov-sends-emotional-message-to-fans-days-after-wimbledon-retirement\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dimitrov retired while leading Jannik Sinner<\/a> by two sets to love.<\/p>\n<p>Failing to recover from injury in time, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/former-top-10-player-is-out-of-the-us-open-with-injury-and-will-miss-a-grand-slam-for-the-first-time-in-14-years\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dimitrov was forced to withdraw from the US Open<\/a>, missing his first Grand Slam in 14 years.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\" Jamie Delgado, his coach since 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Taking to social media, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/grigor-dimitrov\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dimitrov<\/a> sent Delgado a message, wishing him the best.<\/p>\n<p>Grigor Dimitrov wishes Jamie Delgado the best as he plans to \u2018start fresh\u2019 without him<\/p>\n<p>Posting an update on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/grigordimitrov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Instagram<\/a> stories, Dimitrov had this to say about his now-former coach, Delgado.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter a few years and great achievements together, Jamie Delgado and I have decided to part ways amicably,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wish him the best in his future also reached two Grand Slam quarterfinals, at the 2024 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/french-open\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">French Open<\/a> and US Open.<\/p>\n<p>In his final match with Delgado as coach, Dimitrov was on the verge of one of the biggest upsets in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/wimbledon\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wimbledon<\/a> history, when he led the eventual champion Sinner, 6-3, 7-5, 2-2 on Centre Court.<\/p>\n<p>Producing some of the best tennis of his career in that match, it comes as somewhat of a surprise to see Dimitrov move on from Delgado, with his return right around the corner\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Grigor Dimitrov is scheduled to return at the Shanghai Masters<\/p>\n<p>Announcing his split with Delgado, Dimitrov said he plans to return to tennis \u2018soon\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Dimitrov is still listed as an entrant to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/shanghai-masters\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Shanghai Masters<\/a> event, which begins on October 1, in China.<\/p>\n<p>Assuming he doesn\u2019t withdraw, the Bulgarian will look to mark his return with an impressive performance in Shanghai.<\/p>\n<p>After struggling in Shanghai during the first few years of his career, Dimitrov href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/andrey-rublev\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Andrey Rublev<\/a> in two tight sets, 6-7 [7-9], 4-6.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/jakub-mensik\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jakub Mensik<\/a> in the fourth round 12 months ago.<\/p>\n<p>Only time will tell if he can improve his 12-8 record at the Shanghai Masters in 2025, but it will certainly be worth tuning in for.<\/p>\n<p>  <script async
