We now have a release window for\u00a0Fast & Furious 11<\/a>: April 2027.<\/p>\n

Series lead and executive producer Vin Diesel<\/a> revealed the target date during his apperance at FuelFest on Saturday, where he also revealed three things about the film. First, it\u2019s heading back to Los Angeles, the location of the original film, and focusing on the street racing and car culture that drove the early Fast\u00a0movies. In the past, Diesel\u2019s indicated his desire to step away<\/a> from the spy adventures that drove later installments, so that\u2019s not too surprising.<\/p>\n

What\u00a0is\u00a0surprising, though, is the third bit of news:\u00a0Fast XI\u00a0will see the official return of Brian O\u2019Connor, the series\u2019 initial co-lead played by the late Paul Walker<\/a>. Brian hasn\u2019t appeared since the end of\u00a0Furious 7,\u00a0though the characters have brought him up on occasion. When Walker died mid-production on\u00a0Furious 7,\u00a0his brothers Caleb and Cody were stand-ins to complete the remainder of Brian\u2019s scenes, and Paul\u2019s face was digitally scanned in.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s what you\u2019re gonna get in the finale!\u201d Diesel declared. While this has also been something he\u2019s teased at<\/a> in the past, he didn\u2019t disclose\u00a0how\u00a0this would come about, such as recasting the role, bringing the other Walker brothers in again, or a digital copy of some kind. But he promised Brian and Dom would reunite again on screen, which further confirms Fast XI\u00a0may be the last mainline entry before the series pivots to spinoffs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now that we know when\u00a0Fast & Furious 11\u00a0is coming, it\u2019s just a matter of seeing what Diesel and director Louis Leterrier have planned for the series\u2019 conclusion.<\/p>\n
