SAN ANTONIO- The city of San Antonio is hosting a series of workshops to allow people to give their thoughts on how they can improve its streets. This follows recognition by Smart Growth America, which named the city’s Complete Streets policy as the top in the nation. <\/p>\n

The policy was originally adopted in 2011 and updated then updated throughout the years, most recently in 2024. It overall aims to promote healthy living and pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods. <\/p>\n

Today’s workshop focuses on public input, bringing together experts, local leaders, developers, engineers, designers, and residents to showcase San Antonio’s approach and share best practices. <\/p>\n

Zan Marshall, senior transportation planner, emphasized the importance of public engagement, saying, “Complete streets is a national approach, and San Antonio is a specific city, and so engaging the public is important to make sure that they’re aware of what we’re doing.” <\/p>\n

Two workshops are scheduled, with the first taking place this evening at 5:30 p.m. at the Pre-K 4 SA West Education Center on Old Highway 90.
