(Credit: Facebook)<\/p>\n<p>Mark Zuckerberg\u2019s much-anticipated demo of Meta\u2019s new AI glasses tanked Wednesday at the Connect 2025 keynote, with glitches playing out in front of a packed audience.<\/p>\n<p>The device, called Meta Ray-Ban Display is priced at $799 and has been pitched as a breakthrough in wearable &#8220;agentic AI&#8221; with digital assistants that act on behalf of users.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/person\/mark-zuckerberg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zuckerberg&#8217;s<\/a> two demo fails left Meta\u2019s new glasses looking slightly less polished in front of hundreds.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/tech\/meta-adds-teen-safety-features-instagram-facebook\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>META ADDS TEEN SAFETY FEATURES TO INSTAGRAM, FACEBOOK<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>     <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/zuckerberg-at-meta-connect-fox-news-001.jpeg\" alt=\"Zuckerberg\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>Meta&#8217;s $799 AI glasses debut went wrong when live demos malfunctioned onstage, leaving Zuckerberg fumbling with the technology before a global audience. (Getty)<\/p>\n<p>The keynote, held at Meta\u2019s Silicon Valley headquarters, was billed as the coming-out party for the long-rumored &#8220;Hypernova&#8221; glasses.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At first, Zuckerberg showed off a live view through the new glasses and replied to texts using small wrist motions. (Getty)<\/p>\n<p>One member of the audience, Tech Radar&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/author\/lance-ulanoff\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Lance Ulanoff <\/a>said Zuckerberg&#8217;s presentation included some very big fails.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The AI was clearly confused and jumping around,&#8221; said Ulanoff.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The developers tell him to never run live demos, and he just keeps doing it because when you&#8217;re at a keynote, there are thousands of people all on the Wi-Fi at the same time, which means things can go wrong.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to Ulanoff, other big tech firms don&#8217;t do live presentations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Apple no longer does live presentations at their keynotes for this reason,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They have Tim Cook come out for two seconds, so maybe a minute, and then he goes behind the stage, and we watch a pre-made video where they have total control.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/tech\/meta-ai-docs-exposed-allowing-chatbots-flirt-kids\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>META AI DOCS EXPOSED, ALLOWING CHATBOTS TO FLIRT WITH KIDS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/mark-zuckerberg-bosworth-meta.001.jpg\" alt=\"Mark Zuckerberg and Andrew Bosworth\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>Mark Zuckerberg, left, and Andrew Bosworth wear Meta Ray-Ban Display AI glasses at the Meta Connect event in Menlo Park, Calif., Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025.\u00a0 (Getty)<\/p>\n<p>Instead, the assistant repeatedly skipped ahead, refusing to answer the simple question, &#8220;What do I do first?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After failed attempts, Mancuso blamed the Wi-Fi before tossing the segment back to Zuckerberg.<\/p>\n<p>The second stumble came during a showcase of the Neural Band. Zuckerberg successfully sent and received a text from Meta CTO<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Andrew Bosworth.<\/p>\n<p>But when Bosworth attempted to initiate a WhatsApp video call, the glasses would not pick it up.<\/p>\n<p>Zuckerberg fumbled with the interface before giving up. Bosworth eventually walked onstage, joking about &#8220;brutal Wi-Fi&#8221; as the audience laughed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You practice these things like a hundred times, and then you never know what\u2019s gonna happen,&#8221; Zuckerberg said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/foxnews.onelink.me\/xLDS?pid=AppArticleLink&amp;af_dp=foxnewsaf%3A%2F%2F&amp;af_web_dp=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.foxnews.com%2Fapps-products\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Despite the onstage glitches, Zuckerberg framed the glasses as a leap forward in AI-powered personal technology.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized that the devices represent Meta\u2019s vision of a future where\u00a0wearable AI assistants anticipate needs and handle tasks with minimal user effort.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mark has enthusiasm, and so he was willing to take the risk, but, unfortunately, in a couple of instances, it didn&#8217;t go his way,&#8221; added Ulanoff.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m sure Mark Zuckerberg felt extremely uncomfortable, but I give him credit for maintaining his calm and making a joke about it all.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Fox News Digital reached out to Meta for comment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Meta&#8217;s pricey AI glasses debut went wrong when two live demos malfunctioned onstage.
