A shooting at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office in Dallas has left two people dead, including the gunman, and two others wounded, officials say.<\/p>\n
According to police, the shooting occurred at about 6:40 a.m. local time on Wednesday. The shooter, identified by multiple news outlets as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, opened fire from an adjacent building.<\/p>\n
The shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, officials said.<\/p>\n
Two people were transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds, the Dallas Police Department said in a statement posted to X<\/a>. The three victims were detainees. One victim died at the scene, two others are in critical condition, according to the Department of Homeland Security<\/a>. No federal law enforcement officers were injured in the attack.<\/p>\n The shooting took place at an ICE field office, where recently arrested detainees are processed before they are taken to a detention facility elsewhere.<\/p>\n Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons told multiple news outlets<\/a> that the gunman appeared to be \u201ca sniper.\u201d<\/p>\n Other federal agencies, including the FBI, are assisting in the investigation.<\/p>\n Posting to his Truth Social network on Wednesday afternoon<\/a>, President Trump<\/a> claimed “this violence is the result of the Radical Left Democrats constantly demonizing Law Enforcement” without citing any evidence.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Democratic Rep.
