(Rendering from sparks.wnba.com)\n<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#\" class=\"icon-enlarge mng-gallery-fullscreen-expand\" aria-label=\"Expand fullscreen slideshow\">Expand<\/a><\/p>\n<p>When the facility is built, El Segundo will be the only city in the nation that\u2019s home to five professional sports teams, according to a press release from El Segundo, including football, men\u2019s basketball, rugby and women\u2019s basketball.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled that the WNBA\u2019s marquee franchise, the LA Sparks, is building its new state-of-the-art headquarters and training facility here,\u201d El Segundo Mayor Chris Pimentel said in the city\u2019s release. \u201cThis facility will set a new standard in the league, reflecting the Sparks\u2019 commitment to excellence on and off the court and reinforcing El Segundo\u2019s status as a premier destination for professional sports.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new facility will be complete with the WNBA\u2019s first indoor-outdoor player sanctuary, which will feature an outdoor spa pool for recovery and pre-hab\/rehab. It\u2019ll also have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dedicated nap rooms.<\/li>\n<li>Quiet wellness spaces for yoga and meditation.<\/li>\n<li>Hydrotherapy and spa suites.<\/li>\n<li>Two WNBA regulation basketball courts.<\/li>\n<li>A circular locker room designed to foster team unity.<\/li>\n<li>State-of-the-art weight room and training spaces with nagtural light to promote energy and recovery.<\/li>\n<li>Panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and nearby mountains.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Transwestern\u2019s Sports &amp; Entertainment Group is the development manager and owner representative for the project, according to the release.<\/p>\n<p>Women-run commercial design firm Studio Blitz, a company known for creating community-oriented spaces that celebrate the power of women, designed the facility\u2019s interior, the release said,<\/p>\n<p>The facility, which will be in the heart of El Segundo, will reinforce the Sparks\u2019 role as a cornerstone of LA\u2019s professional sports landscape, the team said.<\/p>\n<p>The Los Angeles Sparks\u2019 training facility is more than a home base for athletes, the team\u2019s release said, but also a statement of intent about the future of the WNBA in Los Angeles.
