{"id":252400,"date":"2025-09-25T01:09:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-25T01:09:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/252400\/"},"modified":"2025-09-25T01:09:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-25T01:09:11","slug":"phoenix-hospital-bans-family-owned-coffee-trailer-over-offensive-logo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/252400\/","title":{"rendered":"Phoenix hospital bans family-owned coffee trailer over \u2018offensive\u2019 logo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | text-start article-text\"><b>PHOENIX (AZFamily)<\/b> \u2014 For over three years \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/GYSCoffee\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Graveyard Shift Coffee<\/a>\u201d has served drinks to health care workers at various hospitals across the Valley, with overnight hours being their bread and butter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">This week, the owners reported that someone took offense to their name and logo, which is causing them to miss out on 40% of their business.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThe graveyard shift, hence the name and the logo with the skeleton and the scrubs,\u201d said Tyler Tremaine, co-owner of Graveyard Shift Coffee.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cOur own little niche,\u201d said Sierra Tremaine, Tyler\u2019s sister, who works as a barista.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The goal is to fuel the life-savers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThis trailer was made for the night shift workers at hospitals,\u201d said Tyler.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Tyler and Sierra\u2019s dad, Michael, got the idea after his own experience working as a first responder. It\u2019s become a family affair, spanning generations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cIt\u2019s great like learning together, growing together,\u201d said Sierra.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">For two years, they said Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix has been their main spot every Monday and Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cEffective immediately they cancelled all of our bookings,\u201d said Tyler. \u201cLike that. One phone call.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Why?<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cOur name and our logo was offensive,\u201d said Tyler.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWhat exactly did they say is offensive?,\u201d asked Arizona\u2019s Family reporter Micaela Marshall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThe skeleton and the word \u2018graveyard,\u2019\u201d said Tyler, who explained the skeleton in scrubs and the shop\u2019s name are not new.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cBeen the same for three and a half years, never been an issue before at any other hospital,\u201d said Tyler.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThis is just so out of nowhere,\u201d said Sierra. \u201cWe\u2019re trying to portray how the workers feel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Tremaines were told that one person complained.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cOut of all of the good feedback they got one complaint and that was it for us,\u201d said Sierra.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The news is taking a toll on both their finances and emotions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cAll we want to do is pay our bills and put a smile on people\u2019s faces,\u201d said Tyler through tears. \u201cMy grandma\u2019s been working for free for three and a half years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">To help make ends meet, they hope Mayo reconsiders and gives them another chance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cIf it is so offensive I would even be willing to put a banner or a different logo over ours, but we weren\u2019t even given that option,\u201d said Tyler.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe don\u2019t have any bad intention with the name or the logo.
