{"id":253773,"date":"2025-09-25T14:19:16","date_gmt":"2025-09-25T14:19:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/253773\/"},"modified":"2025-09-25T14:19:16","modified_gmt":"2025-09-25T14:19:16","slug":"giacomo-naldi-now-states-how-he-really-feels-about-jannik-sinner-after-being-fired-by-him-in-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/253773\/","title":{"rendered":"Giacomo Naldi now states how he really feels about Jannik Sinner after being fired by him in 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Giacomo Naldi was dismissed from Jannik Sinner\u2019s team in 2024 following the controversial Clostebol saga.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/what-is-clostebol-and-what-experts-have-said-about-jannik-sinner-case\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sinner tested positive for Clostebol<\/a> last year, Naldi and Umberto Ferrara were fired.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/what-umberto-ferrara-said-about-jannik-sinner-after-he-was-fired-last-year-as-he-now-rejoins-the-team\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sinner re-hired Ferrara<\/a> but decided against bringing Naldi back into the fold.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/GettyImages-1967668507-1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Jannik Sinner and Umberto Ferrara pose together after the 2024 Australian Open final\" class=\"wp-image-114191\" \/>Photo by Andy Cheung\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Instead, Naldi now works with another Italian, Francesco Passaro, the world number 139.<\/p>\n<p>Having previously declined to comment about his departure from Sinner\u2019s team, Naldi has now shared how he really feels about the Italian star.<\/p>\n<p>Giacomo Naldi says he has \u2018no hard feelings\u2019 towards Jannik Sinner<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gazzetta.it\/Tennis\/ATP\/25-09-2025\/smash-naldi-volta-pagina-il-passato-non-si-puo-cambiare-con-sinner-nessun-rancore.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">La Gazetta dello Sport<\/a>, Naldi revealed what his relationship with Sinner is like now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven during the proceedings, we always had a good relationship,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven though the collaboration has ended, there\u2019s no hard feelings. What happened can\u2019t be changed, but we have to move on. Beyond everything, the human relationship remains after a case that involved us, and it was just an unfortunate series of coincidences, and we are aware of that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Naldi is proud of the way he handled a difficult situation that had many criticising him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve always behaved correctly; I\u2019ve never sought publicity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are the first official statements I\u2019ve made since everything happened. At times, words have been put in my mouth from other contexts that have sparked social media hate and controversy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnlike others, I never said anything about what happened, and I think my honesty was evident and appreciated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Italian proceeded to comment on his recent interactions with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/darren-cahill\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Darren Cahill<\/a> and Ferrara.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/GettyImages-2195657160-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"Darren Cahill celebrates at the 2025 Australian Open\" class=\"wp-image-105053\" \/>Photo by Graham Denholm\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI saw [Darren] Cahill, who has always been very kind,\u201d said Naldi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I ran into [Umberto] Ferrara.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI come from a basketball background, I\u2019ve always tried to bring team spirit to the Sinner team, too, and that\u2019s one of the things that was most appreciated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Looking to move on from the incident, Naldi enjoyed his return to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/atp\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ATP Tour<\/a>, as he recalls an interaction he had with the new world number one\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Carlos Alcaraz made Giacomo Naldi \u2018immensely happy\u2019 when they met <\/p>\n<p>Travelling with Passaro, Naldi met world number one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> recently.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was very pleased to return to the tour, experiencing the atmosphere of a Grand Slam. In the end, time passes, people move forward, each according to their own path.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone knows how things went by now, and those who don\u2019t know can go and read the verdict. I didn\u2019t feel like I was being watched; it was like picking up the thread of the conversation where I left off.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After a stint with Grand Slam champion Sinner, Naldi is now spending the majority of his time on the Challenger Tour with Passaro.<\/p>\n<p>The 24-year-old lost in the quarterfinals of the Bad Woltersdorf Challenger Tour event recently and is scheduled to return in Mouilleron-le-Captif, France, next week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Giacomo Naldi was dismissed from Jannik Sinner\u2019s team in 2024 following the controversial Clostebol saga.
