Get ready to howl for a new band called Howl Owl Howl.<\/p>\n
Members of three \u201890s rock groups have teamed up for the new supergroup, featuring Hootie & The Blowfish singer Darius Rucker<\/a>, R.E.M. bassist-vocalist Mike Mills and The Black Crowes<\/a> drummer Steve Gorman. Together, they are called Howl Owl Howl.<\/p>\n Billboard<\/a> reports the trio has been friends for decades and started playing together a casually a few years ago. Now they\u2019ve made their partnership official and will release their first song, \u201cMy Cologne,\u201d on Oct. 31.<\/p>\n \u201cIt feels great to be singing with a rock band again. It\u2019s like buddies getting together, but also getting to play with your idols,\u201d Rucker told Billboard. \u201cThe stuff we\u2019re writing is so different than anything I\u2019ve tried to do before.\u201d <\/p>\n Howl Owl Howl has also announced a series of fall tour dates, where they will perform new songs written by the group. They will also play two hits from each of the members\u2019 original bands, Hootie & The Blowfish, R.E.M. and The Black Crowes.<\/p>\n Rucker, the voice of Hootie hits like \u201cOnly Wanna Be With You\u201d and \u201cI Cry,\u201d is also known for his work as a solo country artist on songs like \u201cWagon Wheel\u201d and \u201cAlright.\u201d<\/p>\n R.E.M.<\/a> disbanded in 2011, but Mills reunited with bandmates Michael Stipe, Peter Buck and Bill Berry last year when they were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
