Drag performer and author Bob The Drag Queen will debut on Broadway in Moulin Rouge!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Producers of the Tony-winning Best Musical Moulin Rouge! The Musical announced last week that drag superstar, comedian, actor and New York Times Best-Selling author Bob The Drag Queen will make his Broadway debut as \u201cHarold Zidler\u201d on Jan. 27 for an eight-week limited engagement through March 22 at Broadway\u2019s Al Hirschfeld Theatre<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing on Broadway has always been a dream of mine. I moved to NYC almost 17 years ago to pursue it. Some roads take a while,\u201d BTDQ said in the announcement. <\/p>\n

Wayne Brady is currently in the role through Nov. 9 with Robert Petkoff, who currently plays Zidler on tour, joining the cast after Brady and just before Bob. Plan your NYC trip and snag tickets<\/a> to see BTDQ take on the role. <\/p>\n

Amphibian announces cast and crew for its season\u2019s chilling closer<\/strong><\/p>\n

Based on Daphne du Maurier\u2019s short story (the inspiration for Hitchcock\u2019s famous film), Amphibian Stage will present The Birds<\/a> brings a harrowing, suspenseful look at human nature in the face of societal collapse. This stage adaptation will be directed by Amphibian Stage\u2019s Artistic Director, Jay Duffer (The Handless King, The Visit, Spaceman, and Marie Antoinette). Along with Duffer, the company announced its full cast and creative team.<\/p>\n

Designers include Hope Cox (costume), David Lanza (sound), Kaitlin Hatton (props), Jeff Stanfield (scenic\/set) and Roma Flowers (lighting). The creative team also cinludes Hailey Green as Stage Manager and Joseph Tully as Directing Apprentice. <\/p>\n

The Birds cast includes Sarah Gay as Diance, Monica Jones as Julia, Philip Maxwell as Nat and Greg Holt as Tierney. <\/p>\n

The show opens Oct. 15 just in time for the Halloween season and runs through Nov. 8. <\/p>\n

Second Chance Players reveals its cast for The Laramie Project<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last month, SCP announced its newest production as The Laramie Project set for November. This will also mark the play\u2019s 25th anniversary production. Based on the aftermath of Matthew Shepard\u2019s murder in 1998 in Laramie, Wisconsin, the production was written by Mois\u00e9s Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project based on interviews with residents about the attack and killing of the young gay man. <\/p>\n

The company states this theater piece aligns with its mission \u201cto create an inclusive, transformative theater space where individuals in recovery, LGBTQ+ community
members, and those impacted by trauma can heal, grow, and inspire through the power of storytelling and performance.\u201d Second Chance Players is a DFW theater group dedicated to
providing a creative outlet for individuals in recovery and marginalized communities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Laramie Project is exactly the kind of meaningful theater that Second Chance Players was founded to produce,\u201d Founder and Artistic Director Bill Shea said in a press release. \u201cThis play gives voice to real people grappling with profound questions about hatred, acceptance, and community responsibility. It\u2019s a story that needs to be told, especially in our current social climate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, SCP announced the cast of The Laramie Project who play multiple roles. Starring in the production will be Martin Antonio Guerra, Benjamin McElroy, Winta Berhane, Corinne Christopher, Josh Bloyd, Bailey Watson, Sydney Lefkof and Shake Hardwick. <\/p>\n

The show will run Nov. 6-22. Ticket sales have not yet opened. <\/p>\n
